The lighting conditions in Vietnam are quite favorable, with sunshine hours of 1600-2700 years, with an average light intensity of 4-5KWh/, even higher than that in China's Class I resource areas, which makes PV have great investment value. The draft of the new photovoltaic policy being worked out at present shows that the Vietnamese government intends to divide the whole country into four types of resource areas and four types of projects, and set subsidy standards separately (solar ground mounting, water surface,solar rooftop  and energy storage), which will give higher subsidies to the northern areas with weak solar energy resources to encourage the development of solar projects in various places.

The Central Highlands province of Gia Lai has issued a decision approving the investment plan for the KN IaLy - Gia Lai solar power project, which has total investment of over 9.55 trillion VND (412.27 million USD). The project covers 533 hectares of Ia Ly Hydropower Station reservoir water surface and 5 hectares of Ia Ly Commune land in Chu Pah District.

During the implementation of photovoltaic project in Vietnam, IEC and IEEE standards are mainly implemented for electrical specialty, American standards for civil engineering specialty, and local Vietnamese standards for fire protection design and acceptance. The latitude in Vietnam is low, the installation inclination angle of components is small, and the square matrix occupies a relatively small area. At present, solar mount projects are basically flat photovoltaic. In order to save land and improve solar installation capacity, solar components are mainly single crystal with high efficiency, and inverters are grouped and centralized according to the preference of the owner.
