Revolutionary Coating Structure and Composition:
ZAM is a general term for Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium coatings. In addition to zinc (Zn), its composition includes precisely proportioned aluminum (Al) and magnesium (Mg) (e.g., ZnAl6Mg3), and sometimes silicon (Si).
This alloy coating forms a dual mechanism on the steel surface: "Sacrificial Anode Protection" + "Dense Barrier Protection."
Aluminum (Al): Forms a dense alumina film on the coating surface, acting as the first physical barrier, significantly slowing the penetration of corrosive media.
Magnesium (Mg): Greatly enhances the coating's "self-healing" capability. When the coating is scratched or cut, magnesium promotes the faster and denser formation of corrosion products over the cut edge, creating a protective layer that prevents red rust formation. This is its most outstanding feature.
Exceptional Corrosion Life Data:
With the same coating thickness, ZAM's corrosion resistance is typically 3-10 times or more that of ordinary hot-dip galvanized (GI) steel.
In neutral salt spray tests, ordinary galvanized steel (100g/㎡) may show red rust after about 500 hours, while ZAM coating of the same thickness can last 2000-3000 hours or even longer.
This means that in harsh environments (e.g., C4 highly corrosive industrial areas, C5 coastal areas), ZAM structures can guarantee a design service life of 25 years or more, better matching the lifespan of PV modules.
