4. Lightning surge invades the output power supply line: when the power supply equipment and power supply line are struck by lightning, the average lightning overvoltage on the power line can reach tens of thousands of volts, and the lightning electromagnetic pulse can immerse into photovoltaic microelectronic equipment and systems along the power line, causing devastating strikes to the system equipment.
How should we prevent lightning electromagnetic pulse?
1. Shielding
In order to reduce electromagnetic interference, the incoming lines of solar panels should be laid in a suitable path and well shielded before being introduced into the building integrated with photovoltaic buildings. Cables with metal shielding layer shall be selected and laid through metal pipes. At the interface of lightning protection area, the metal shielding layer and metal pipes of cables shall be equipotential connected and grounded.
2. Surge protector
In order to prevent the intrusion of lightning electrophoresis into the DC and AC power lines of the integrated photovoltaic building power generation system, it is important to set up power surge protective devices (SPDs) at corresponding locations consistent with the system, especially the probability of lightning surge introduced by outdoor power lines from the battery matrix to indoor batteries, controllers, distribution cabinets, etc. cannot be ignored. At least one switch type arrester shall be installed at the front end of the transformer of the photovoltaic building integrated power generation system.
