Policy Support Renewable Energy 3020 Plan:

In 2017, the South Korean government introduced the "Renewable Energy 3020" initiative, aiming to increase the share of renewables in the total energy mix to 20% by 2030, with solar power as a key focus. The target was later revised upward to 21.6% in 2021.

Installed Capacity:

As of 2023, South Korea’s cumulative PV capacity reached approximately 20 GW, accounting for about 4% of the nation’s electricity generation. The goal is to add 30 GW of new PV capacity by 2030.
